ipw2200 firmware driver
« on: September 13, 2005, 02:14:49 PM »
i have a intel pro/wireless 2200bg wireless card

debian doesn\'t seem to recognize it, as i can\'t get google.com to come up or my gateway, and kwifimanager doesn\'t find any networks when it scans. it also shows 0 signal strength

i tried downloading the ipw2200 source from debian.org and i installed it using module-assistant but its still not working

Did you get any errors when using the module-assistant utility?  Did you install the stable version of the driver?

when using module-assistant i got an error about missing firmware. it told me to read some file for instructions on getting the firmware. i followed them and then tried using module-assistant again but it said ipw2200 was already installed.

You might want to navigate to your current installation directory and uninstall it.  Then try to install it again.  SO maybe try the following:
Code: [Select]
 # cd ipw2200-1.0.4 (or your specific installation directory)
  # make uninstall

Then try the install again and see if any other errors.
