boot problem
« on: January 20, 2006, 08:14:15 AM »
hi everybody
i\'m new to linux and after having tried ubuntu i decided to install debian 3.1 on my computer. I managed to survive the installation, and started playing with aptitude trying to install x11. in the configuration utility x-server-xfree86 probably i set something wrong about display and video card.now, at the very end of the boot gdm is loaded and after that:
the video displays an error message (from the lcd bios)
the computer doesn\'t respond. you have to power off and reboot
What can i do to sort it out?
if gdm is not executed it is fine!
thanx a lot
Silvio
