Canceled vs Cancelled

They are both words (spelled correctly) but with slightly different meanings.

Canceled means that something was going to take place and now is not going to take place.
-- The meeting was canceled.
-- The flight was canceled because of bad weather.

Cancelled means to void out; to delete.
-- He canceled the account by marking it as cancelled.

That\'s so weird, but yeh, it seems right now that you mention it.  Man, English is wacky.
