What Runs Your Phone?
« on: August 05, 2005, 08:48:56 PM »
While reading through an article at LinuxDevices.com it made me curious to see what OS runs the devices that LinuxBoards members carry.

My Device:
HP Ipaq 6315
Powered By:
Windows Pocket PC 2003

Clip from the article I was reading:
Quote
The global market share of Linux smartphones has increased from 3.4 percent in the first quarter of 2004 to 14 percent in the first quarter of 2005. With 14 percent, Linux ranks second behind Symbian (76 percent). Palm OS captured 4.6 percent, and Windows Mobile 4.5 percent. The total number of smartphones sold in the first quarter of 2005 is 8.4 million. Total annual sales of mobile terminals, which includes all mobile phones, are expected to climb from about 800 million units in 2005 to close to 1 billion units in 2008. Smartphones sales are expected to double in 2006 and reach 200 million units by 2008.
