I just read that too. Peer 1 is growing all the time, first Serverbeach and now Interland... should be interesting to see what other new things they are planning to do.

This deal, worth  14 million, means that Peer 1 now owns a very successful portion of one of North America\'s top ten hosting companies.  Included will be a large customer base, skilled staff, great equipment and three data centers located in Miami, Atlanta and Fremont.  The new company will temporarily be known as Interland Dedicated Servers in order to distinguish it from its old parent company Interland, Inc. (long
term, we will use a yet-to-be-determined brand name).  The temporary website is http://www.InterlandDedicatedServers.com.

Interesting that there will be a data center in Miami, that is like putting an oil rig in Louissiana. Actually I believe the hub of florida all goes through Miami so that baffles me. I don\'t know where Fremont is but I would think that is Texas and if so that makes sense as a lot of internet traffic DOES flow through there.

Hivelocity is located in Tampa and their still standing. I guess you guys didn\'t hear about the datacenter in New Orleans that kept itself going doing the hurricane. I\'ll try to dig up the link.

What it shows is what people have been speculating for years. If a disaster happened would the internet still run and obviously the answer is yes. Everything (wires) are underground and the datacenters are built like brick **** houses.
