I like DirectAdmin the best as its not at all cluttered as much as cPanel. But currently I am using cPanel because of the deal I got with the server. I will someday go back to DirectAdmin.

I actually prefer no control panel, but if I have to choose, I like both CPanel and DirectAdmin.

Currently, Plesk is the best all-in-one solution for me.

I am going to revise my answer. I just recently switched to Cpanel and I am liking Cpanel alot more. Cpanel, Interworx, or DirectAdmin are the way to  go!
Webmin is also a good panel, especially if you are doing things like voice hosting or game server hosting. You can setup buttons in webmin to start/stop/restart the server and you can also setup buttons to edit server.ini/server.cfg files.

My company operates a web hosting business and we see that more novice users like Plesk abut advanced users prefer Cpanel.

I think you are right on about CPanel over PLESK, although I think once people become comfortable with it CPanel is going to win out any day of the week.

Advanced users? Advanced users don\'t use a control panel, they use the command line. :D

In all seriousness, I think if you are going to count yourself among the advanced users, you need to be comfortable with at least the basics of the command line.

I see where you are coming from, but I mean for a shared hosting environment where terminal access is not permitted (99.9%+ of all domains out there today qualify to this group).  I am the owner of a hosting company and manage many servers (both Win and Lin) and I use server control panels all the time.  Even for advanced users, clicking buttons is way easier than scripting command lines IMHO.

Saying that being an "advanced user" is saying you have to use the command line is like saying if you are a real web developer you program in Notepad instead of Dreamweaver or Coldfusion.

There are times when the command line is a lot more convienient to do EXACTLY what it is you want to do, and there are other times when it is a lot FASTER to just click a button. A true "advanced user" should be well versed not only in the command line but in GUI as well... or should we just call that a "smart user".

That I agree with in that even if you do know it, it is usually easier to click a couple of buttons rather than opening up putty and going in. Heck, I use Zend to do my PHP programming instead of notepad. :P But, users do need to familiarize themselves with the very basics, even if it is just mv, chmod, and rm. You never know when it may come in handy.
