How do I "Ghost" Linux?
« on: September 25, 2006, 12:23:36 PM »
I know with Windows you can use Norton Ghost to copy everything from one drive to another, but how do you do this with Linux?
The reason for this, is that I am swapping my desktop pc for a laptop, and I don\'t want to go through the whole setup again!:(

Please, I\'d appreciate it if someone helped me with this!

Thanx!! :D

Ghosting Linux

Norton Ghost supports Linux file system, but will not install on Linux.
If you have Norton Ghost, I would take your laptop (target) and put windows on a small partition, just enough for the OS so it will network.  Then take a Windows PC (station) that has Ghost installed on it and network it with your desktop (source) and the laptop (target).  Then image the source to the target.
Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. -- Linux learns.
