Installed 9.2
« on: March 05, 2005, 09:01:07 PM »
Installed SUSE 9.2 FTP install on my Dell Inspiron 1150 and ran very slow. I didnt even want to compile a custom kernel to even see if it would help at all.
After doing some googleing I have read that this is normal with everybody and also read the sticking with 9.1 was a better choice. I have before ran the 9.1 Eval edition and liked it. Hopefully the 9.1 FTP install will be as fast.
Lets hope I can get it to work with my internal wireless A/B/G card like I had on CentOS that worked flawlessly.

I\'m running 9.2 on a Toshiba Satellite and it\'s fast.  Did you check what modules were loading and unload anything not necessary?  (Note:  I\'m not using the FTP install, but the full retail box version.)  My built-in wireless was picked up during the install, as well.

What are your notebook specs?
