respawning too fast...what??
« on: October 16, 2007, 11:54:24 PM »
I\'ve got Suse Linux 10, but I\'m a beginner. I know very few commands.

The other day I had to move my computer. I turned it back on and my mouse or keyboard didn\'t work so I had to turn it off then when I rebooted...whoa. It doesn\'t boot up anymore and I get this error:

INIT: cannot execute "/sbin/mingetty"
INIT: Id 6 respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes
INIT: no more processes left in this runlevel

There\'s a lot more going on before this. Let me know if you want me to add it. Something about ReiserFS in tree mode, invalid format found in block, io error trying to find stat data.

I\'ve tried researching it and found stuff about commenting out lines or something, but I don\'t know...

I have never experienced that before.  What was going on prior?
