ZFS Port to Linux ( all versions)
« on: August 23, 2010, 12:18:46 AM »

As we all know, ZFS is by far the best file system.

People have workarounds and solutions which are kind of 2nd tone replacements to work on Linux, but either ways, all these solutions are not really good replacements as they either are not stable enough or lack some of the salient features of ZFS.

KQ has ported ZFS to Linux and was a much awaited release since January 2010.

We are releasing the closed beta in last week of August/first week of september and are looking for closed beta customers who can test it for free on some environments.

Mail me at darshin@kqinfotech.com to register.

Feel free to put forward any questions as well.

Kind Regards,

Darshin

Sounds interesting, but what is "KQ"?
Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. -- Linux learns.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

KQ is an IT services company with core expertise in systems, data storage and virtualization. Our team has great deal of expertise in Linux Kernel programming and File Systems is one of our core expertise areas. The interest in porting ZFS over linux was generated once Solaris came up with this best file system of all times, especially with some very usable features which are not existing in any other file system. You could learn more about us on www.kqinfotech.com

Though in the process of porting ZFS to Linux, we have invested quite a considerable amount of resources, we have ultimately succeeded in doing so. You could register on to zfs.kqinfotech.com to get the first limited edition beta. As promised earlier, we have released it on september 15th.

Thank you for your interest and continued support.
