Heavy CPU load caused by Apache
« on: February 12, 2006, 12:10:17 PM »
I have a Linux RHEL3 running Cpanel and Apache server.  From time to time I see in the top processes what I would refer to as an "Apache process hanging" where a process uses 90%+ server CPU resources.  The user is "nobody" and the command is "/usr/sbin/httpd".  If I kill the process or restart Apache it solves the problem until it happens again.

My question is, is there any way to tell which domain, page or script is causing this?  If I could find out I could help prevent it from occurring in the future.

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. -- Linux learns.
